The NDO Foundation

In 2012 we will be turning Navy Diver Olympics into a nonprofit organization. This has been in the works for awhile now but will be launched in short order. Our mission will be to become a financial intermediary and job training service for veterans in Eastern Iowa initially. Our objective is to teach returning vets the ins and outs of small business ownership and how to market their skills. We believe that veterans will outperform their equally trained civilian counterpart at most anything if given the proper training and leadership.

Alaska needs to reconsider stance on PFD for the military

While there is a break in the action, we would like to bring attention to something that has hit our radar screen. First a little background information:

Navy Diver Olympics 4

We would like to thank all of the people that called in or emailed us about where NDO IV should be held. We considered going to the UK but we never heard back from Richard “Soapy” Watson. There is a lot of action going on all over the mid east and the fact that we don’t hear from guys for weeks is common. Cheers to you mates, our offer stands. Then there was the chance to go Annapolis and let the guys going through Navy Spec War officer program try and take on Tiko and Paul. But when you got the resume our champion does duty calls often.

Back in the Saddle Again!

Hawkeye Invitational participants and spectators, we love ya, but we have an announcement to make: The Navy Diver Olympics will be back in Southern California once again for NDO 3.

The details cannot yet be released but we will confirm that the event will be held in the Coronado/San Diego area sometime in early December. We expect a record turnout in entrants and spectators alike. Keep your eyes peeled for more information. And if you are thinking about competing, now is the time to hit the pull-up bar. It pays to be a winner.

Who is your hero?

In December of 2008, we headed out to California for our first Navy Diver Olympics at Danny’s Palm in Coronado. The first two guys to sign up were Tiko Crofoot and Dan Cnossen. Both were US Naval Academy graduates and Special Warfare Officers from SEAL Team ONE. Both guys were in great shape. They finished first and second in the inaugural event.

Thank you and good luck

The upcoming Hawkeye Invitational event is quickly approaching and we wanted to thank everyone who has helped out and those who will be participating this Saturday. The sponsors for this event continue to not only allow us to keep the event free for all of the participants but to also continually donate to the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation.

Attention Eastern Iowa Business owners:

Get Well Soon Greg

Greg McPartlin, ex navy seal and owner of McP’s in Coronado, California, has been hospitalized and is in serious condition. We see the stats and know a lot of you guys on Coronado are checking out the record boards and watching the videos. You need to pay homage to McP’s… if you are even allowed in. McP’s Irish Pub has been an institution on Coronado for decades and that bar has been graced with more heroes than anywhere else on the planet.

Paul Watson Accepts the $1,000 Navy Diver Olympics Challenge.

Our 2009 Winner Paul Watson has agreed to accept our $1ooo challenge attempt to break his own pushup record of 116 in 2 minutes. Paul is being flown to Iowa in January and will be filmed during his attempt. If he can break his record & come within 75% of the other NDO records he stands to gain $1000. The consolation prize will be Paul’s choice of NDO Approved gear. This is one hell of a feat and Paul is one of a handful of guys that can stand a decent chance. If you are not familiar with what Paul is attempting to do below is the minimum qualifiers in each event:
