Event Details

The competition is designed to demonstrate the unique talents of navy divers. The competition is divided into 4 categories that all entrants will have to complete for a composite score. Seating is limited so we will limit the contest to the first 100 entrants.

1. Push Ups: Yes, you know the drill! The diver will have 2 minutes to perform as many properly executed military push ups as possible. The chest will touch the fist of the staff member that is counting. The back is straight and no ass flappin’ in the breeze. This is Coronado after all and not San Francisco!

2. Pull Ups: Back to the bar Boyz! The diver will have 2 minutes to perform as many properly executed pull ups as possible. This means chin over the bar, knuckles out and no kipping or swinging. If you don’t know what kipping is than you don’t stand a chance of winning, shipmate!

3. Breath Hold: Men of Honor style baby! We won’t have a MkV but we will have an apple bobbing tank. The diver will perform a breath hold with the entire head underwater. Pretty simple, you surface, you’re done!

4. Navy Diver Trivia: We got strong divers and smart ones too. Each entrant will be asked randomly selected questions from the one true source, The US Navy Diving Manual.
Scoring: Each entrant will score 1 point for each push up and pull up. The breath hold winners will be ranked through the top 20 scores. The winner gets 20 points and the 20th person gets 1. If you ain’t in the top 10 you ain’t gonna win anyway so stop cryin’. All entrants will receive 20 points for correctly answering the trivia question. No half answers or partially correct answers accepted.

Prizes:
T-shirts will be handed out and cash & watches will be awarded to the the Top 5 finishers.
